Former riding arena in Landau

Once upon a time this was the scene where many a fine horse was honoured – now it is the turn of the protected riding hall in Landau to receive an award: the building, selected for the “2019 Day of Architecture”, was converted for use by students of fine arts at the University of Koblenz-Landau. The ground floor is now home to classrooms and workshops, while the two upper levels have open loft-like studio rooms.

The architecture is marked by its contrasts between new and old – both inside and outside. The windows play a central role in all of this: the large FIN-Project windows in aluminium-aluminium are presented in the Nova-line Plus design, with wide glass areas that offer plenty of light! Nor was any compromise made when it came to thermal insulation: the building meets KfW Efficiency House 70 standards!
