Window replacement in Piedmont

New windows and lift-and-slide doors were manufactured by Finstral for a 1970s-built villa in San Mauro Torinese.

The minimalist interior design of the single-family home is mirrored by the windows and lift-and-slide doors, with the Nova-line Plus sash frames completely hidden behind glass. The vast expanses of glass serve to maximise interior daylighting while affording spectacular vistas across the lower-lying landscape. The terrace arches, meanwhile, add a curvilinear emphasis to the architecture and act in tandem with the solar protection triple glazing to prevent overheating of the indoor spaces. The concealed window hinges not only reinforce the restrained look, they are also less prone to dust and soiling. At the same time, the aluminium-coloured push-down handles offer enhanced safety and security by preventing burglars from tampering with the hardware bolts and small children from opening the windows from the inside.
