Building complex in Erlangen centre

A mixed-use building in Erlangen city centre housing office, medical practice and residential units underwent wholesale energy-efficient refurbishment under operating conditions. The scheme to improve the building’s energy performance included renewal of the windows.

Finstral’s minimally invasive slide-in installation method allowed smooth, efficient replacement of the 53 units in only two and a half weeks. Finstral precisely integrated the new windows in the existing fabric without any intervention in façade. To preserve the look of the building exterior, the aluminium window frames were finished in Dark Bronze and the sash frames in Pale Bronze. While the interstitial Venetian blinds provide flexible sunshading and glare protection, the high-quality glazing and uPVC frame cores vouch for maximum insulation. The fully modernised, energy-efficient building thus sports windows that remain aesthetically faithful to the past.
