Götschelehof residence in Brixen

This new-build houses eight senior citizens’ apartments, two flat-shares for people with impairments plus associated common areas. The brief called for optimum living quality through needs-based interior and exterior design. For Finstral, this meant generous daylighting of the indoor spaces, ample views and barrier-free access to the outside – a requirement fully met by the expansive window walls. The frameless design at ground-floor level of the floor-to-ceiling perimeter glass fronts dissolve the boundary between interior and garden. Not only are the lift-and-slide doors easy to open and close, their only 2 cm high thresholds permit effortless access by wheelchair users.
And as attractive environments inspire joie de vivre, no compromises were made on the aesthetics. While the externally frameless Nova-line window sashes add style to the façade, the Jet Black matt aluminium colour on interior and exterior rounds out the contemporary look.
